Designed with You in Mind

Sling Ring

This is probably the easiest to put on you: just put the ring sling in the right place on your shoulder and pop the baby in. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind: make sure that the fabric is really good stretched and it covers the knee to knee. You can use the excess fabric to support small babies neck (or add another small piece of material to reinforce). Once you have this on you, your child should feel comfortable and you are hands free.

Mei Tai

This is an intermediate solution between a wrap and a carrier. Most of them are made out of wrap materials and can be buckled (see the waist) or not. This one it is a half buckle and it has an extra security (watch close to the button on the buckle it makes it impossible to open without you wanting it). The shoulders are padded and the only thing you need to do is cross the straps on your back. I really like this one as it doesn't leave me with long tails (material) after I tie off. It is a really comfortable carrier and you can also do back carries once your child grows bigger. Although it looks simple it is very versatile and lets you play with a few possibilities. It's a preferred carriers for fathers, but I did use mine too almost exclusively in the first months (and you don't have to readjust when you switch the user).

Soft structured carriers (SSC)

Half or full buckles, these are the carriers with a waistband, shoulder straps and buckles. There are loads of varieties, loads of producers and they are all very different. They can be made out of different textiles and can be printed or now, they have different ways to fit the baby and most of them are not recommended before 6 months.
